Light Bloom Plugin

This plugin was originally developed as DX10 for Il-2 Sturmovik, but a clever Russian has converted it to DX9 and it somehow works perfectly in FS2004! This isn’t for novices but the effect is highly customisable, can be switched on or off in flight and doesn’t have much of a performance it. You can add subtle light glows or brash motion blur. It’s a great way of making FS look a lot better with little effort. You can download and see the file in action in this Avsim forum thread.
iSD Project Italian Scenery
I’ve been flying a lot recently trying to get some product reviews done and dusted and I discovered some fantastic scenery sat on my hard drive. These high resolution airports are pure payware quality and fairly food performers. They feature custom taxi and runway textures, many photo real buildings and best of all animated traffic depending on season (de-ice required? Tune to…) and guides to aid your parking.

VFR Jesenicko 2
A fantastic scenery of a very picturesque area. A duo of superbly detailed small airfields, rich autogen, thosands of custom objects and more. You can read my full article or download from the official website.

Glacier Bay V2
Holger Sandmann and co have released V2 of the well known Glacier Bay scenery. It covers a huge area with very detailed airports, roads, water, landclass, AI of all varieties… another huge download (or two) but well worth it.

CanarySim
A package that rivals france VFR and maybe even betters them, if it wasn’t for the subject choice I’d be hooked. High resolution mesh, photo scenery, autogen, night effects (cars on the roads) airports, AI - it has it all. It’s a large file, but it should give you a good few weeks enjoyment! CanarySim.

FreeZ - Freeware Zurich
A tremendously detailed airport that looks as if it were by the masters at FlyTampa. A high compliment! Your performance may suffer, but not too badly and it’s a great place to take screenshots. Have a look at the FreeZ website.
