FranceVFR DeHavilland Twin Otter

Over the next weeks I’m going to try and list a quality freeware item as I have a long backlog but never any time.

Kicking it off we have the new FranceVFR Twin Otter from veteran Eric Dantes. Not to be confused with the past versions for FS2002 or FS2004 this new release features high resolution textures, smoother modelling, a high resolution VC and other improvements. It’s a really nice package!

The Twotter can be found in the FranceVFR plane pack or downloaded freely from their forums. You have to be a member and provide a confirmation email if you want it. You could be good and also buy their products!

Koolhoven FK58

This beauty is another great plane from Mike (Oldliner) Migaud. Lovely exterior and the fully 3D interior is an even nicer placer to be. Gentle flight dynamics make this little warbird a lot of fun to all sim abilities. Members of Sim Outhouse can download the plane, for others the filename is FK58.zip =)

Vlajkovic and Sons St.Georg

This tiny plane from 1927 not only drags an advertisement but is a great advertisement for this teams abilities. Great fun to fly and lovingly crafted. A must for those lazy days flying. You download the plywood plane from Avsim.

Vought F-8 (FN) Crusader

Roland Laborie and team have produced some excellent planes, how I forgot to add this one I don’t know. One of the best packages available. A great exterior model, fabulous fully 3D cockpit and nifty features such as a flying partner via the panel! Great fun. You can get this package (and I suggest you do) from the Avsim library.

Evektor EV97 Eurostar

If you follow fsdeveloper.com at all you will have seen this great little light aircraft grow to life. The team of Oskari Syynimaa (Panel and textures) and Hans PÄlsson (modelling) have produced a slick exterior, gorgeous VC and some of the best GA panels I have ever seen. You can download the aircraft and its updates from FSNordic.

Samdim Mudry Cap-10B

Master designers Samdim Design Group have left the soviet union to produce a French aerobatic aircraft. Many simmers are happy they did because this is an amazing bit of freeware! If you want something nimble with a very immersive cockpit (3D gauges + head latency) you can download this file on Avsim. For those with low FPS there is a second file available from the Samdim website.
